A couple of posts ago I also talked about tennis so I would like to expand a little more. In the winter it’s harder to play more because we only have one indoor tennis court and it gets really cold here. Our tennis team is really good we just have tough competition from the bigger towns around us so we haven’t won a state championship in tennis. There’s even a billboard when you come into town that shows all the state championships by our teams like in basketball and football etc. but tennis isn’t even on the billboard. So with the kids that are coming up to varsity like in my grade and the grade below me, I really think that we might have a chance.
I was in a small tournament a couple of weeks ago and it was a doubles tournament. My partner and I came out with a first win and since there were only three teams in the tournament (including us) we were in the championship. We started the game with a BANG. The first point we had the ball speeding across the tennis court. Both teams got to the net and had sort of a volley off. The very last point of the match was the funniest and the most intense out of the whole match. We started a normal point and then they started hitting the ball deep on me and I kept on going back and back and back until I accidentally sat on one of my coaches and I still swung and got the ball in all while sitting on one of my coaches. So I got back up to the baseline and they hit it deep again so I backed up and kept on backing up until I almost sat on someone again but I still got the ball in. We ended up losing the match but it was a evenly matched game from the start.

Thats cool that you guys are still playing tennis even though the weather is bad. I wish the girls team could practice indoors!

ReplyDeleteHaha... It's ok Kendra I bet that any one of you could play me with one hand behind your back and still beat me...That's not hard to do!
ReplyDeleteWell just talk to the boy's assistant coach, Chad Larson because he has a schedule and you just have to email him and sign up for a time and you go play at that time.
ReplyDeleteI enjoy tennis a lot, too. It's great that you've been playing a little during the "off-season", too. Do you follow professional tennis at all?
ReplyDeleteI follow it pro tennis a little bit but I don't really get into it unless a player I now is playing.
ReplyDeleteI agree with Haley and Kendra!
