Me

Some things that you might want to know about me. I play sports such as basketball, and tennis. My favorite basketball player is Steve Nash. He plays for the Phoenix Suns. My favorite college basketball team is between the Duke Blue Devils and the Arizona State Sun Devils. I really picked up on playing basketball and watching basketball because I got an Xbox for Christmas one year and I started playing NBA Live 05 and I got into basketball. But when that happened I really got into it with following certain players and certain teams. But not only did it get me involved with just basketball it got me involved in other sports too.

I also like to play tennis. One thing about our tennis team is that we have a good team but the towns around us are also good so we have never ever won a state championship in tennis. I’m not quite sure how old I was when I started to play but I started to take community lessons and I never like to play tennis. I always hated going to my lesson but now I love to play tennis. Over the summer I went to a tennis camp in St. Peter Minnesota and it was so fun. When you would look at the schedule it would look like non-stop tennis for about four days but you had a free time were you could go swimming you could hang out in the dorms or you could go and do tennis stations. At the beginning of each day they would announce a camper of the day and an instructor of the day. I ended up winning the camper of the day on the last day of camp. One thing that was interesting about the camp was that we had a dance, a talent show, and we also sang songs at the end of each day.

The last thing about me is that I play the drums. Some people would think that’s just banging. But it’s not. Because if you are a true drummer you can play the bells/xylophone and other percussion instruments. But I really like to play the trap set and the weird percussion instruments. But the reason I like to play the drums is because it helps to relieve stress. Because when you’re stressed out you can just go down and play a couple songs and it starts to relax you pumps adrenaline through your veins. It also helps to build hand eye coordination. Lastly I like to play the drums because I just have a natural rhythm.

First Semester Portfolio-Piece I'd like to revise

The genre is a poem. It’s about calling my basement my Man Cave and where I go and my dad go a lot to play video games and watch sports and sometimes our family comes to watch recorded shows. The Man Cave (basement) is also where my drum set is so it can get pretty loud sometimes. The reason I created this poem is because I had to do a place poem and I didn’t know what to write about and I was in my basement and I was thinking and I decided that I should do my basement and call it a Man Cave because I kind of got my idea for Man Cave off of George Lopez but he called it something different. I think that I would change it by putting some similes in it and maybe trying to make it rhyme.

First Semester portfolio-my favorite piece

The genre is a short story. It’s about how a NFL quarter back is in the super bowl and is trying to throw the game winning pass and he has to evade a couple of defenders and he ends up getting injured. I think it’s my favorite because it has a lot of imagery and it’s really realistic and it just shows an image in your head when you read it. How I thought of it was I was sitting in my room trying to think of something to right and my sister was trying to help me and she was just naming off random ideas and one came up that was football so I wrote about it.

Goodbye career

“Down”, I yelled as I scanned the defense for any read I could get on what they had called. I bent over to talk to the center with pressure building on both sides of the ball. “Set”, I yelled as I bent over to make it look like I was whispering to the center again, I quickly yelled, “Hut.” I snatched the ball from the center’s hand and scrambled to find the laces. I ran back into the pocket and slipped as the rain pelted my helmet. Sweat trickled down my face as I hit the dirt and scrambled to get back to my feet. But the offensive line couldn’t hold much longer. I stared at the field to find an open receiver but they were all covered. Out of the corner of my eye on my blind side I saw Dwight Freeney rushing toward me. He jumped as I ducked. He went flying over the top of me and hit Robert Mathis coming after me too. I finally found a receiver in the corner of the end zone…… CRACK. I was hit in two places. My upper body and my legs. One player came from the back and one from the front. I lofted the football up in the air toward the receiver. The receiver dived for the ball, planted one foot and dragged the second, with a one handed catch. The crowd was in an uproar until they looked to me to start celebrating. One man saw me and the news spread like wildfire. All I was doing was lying on the turf. Not moving at all. The training staff rushed onto the field as the players from both teams took off their helmets and kneeled some talking to coaches or players and some talking to family members but most on my team were in prayer with all three coaches, players, and family members. There was a deathly silence throughout the stadium. They soon put me on a stretcher and gave me my super bowl ring. I couldn’t move my hands or anything else for that matter. But my brother gave “thumbs up” to the crowd and the crowd and both teams gave me a standing ovation. Luckily I had just lost movement for a short period of time I regained full movement throughout my body. But I could never play in the NFL again.

First Semester Reflection

I grew as a language art student with my stories and making them better with AWUBIS and imagery with and other smiley face tricks. More things have really clicked this year with vocabulary because I used to have trouble with subjects and verbs but now I get it and its come really easy this year.

I learned that that I was really lazy and tried to get out of studying for tests and found out it hurt my grade and that made me really mad. But I also became really fond of working in art (which I never liked) because my imagination really burst out and I could think of things. But I just need to stop being lazy and not be afraid about new experiences. Also, one more thing is that I need to remember more things instead of forgetting them and then have my awesome mom have to bring them into me.

Finally, if I just don't get lazy and study for my tests I won't have as much trouble this semester. Next, if I try and keep my mind open to new experiences I might be able to do good in the classes that I don’t think I will do good in. Also, I should be more prepared the night before like, double checking my bag and other items I need for school or after school so by getting all my stuff together all I have to do in the morning is to grab it and come to school.
